In 1865, the Ricard family acquired the chateau. In 1942, Claude Ricard inherited the estate, and through his unstinting efforts, the chateau gained fame and quality. However, in 1983, ownership was transferred to the major distilling company Bernard. Claude Ricard continued to own the management rights, but eventually transferred them to Olivier Bernard. Since then, under Olivier Bernard, the company has maintained a management policy of perfection.
